Whas up my Whiggers?

what a weekend. Shawn got married and I performed my best man duties. Managed to pull a speech out of my butt. I enjoyed the sleep over for shawns final night as a man... and in a strange twist, it was the groom who kept everyone up all night. I learned some lessons about being best man... I spend a little too much time worrying about parties/ speechs. rings/ fish, that I forgot to include prayer in the whole process. Me and the groomsmen (shawn's brothers) got to the church the day of the wedding and realized that we had never prayed for shawn as a group, so we did it there and then. BUt besides that everything went pretty good. Lots of dutch people... LOTS.

next weekend i'm moving into an apartment with nathan and his girlfriend, should be intresting. I thought that I could take one bus from there to my school, but the OC transpo said i'd have to transfer. so I e-mailed them again. I've been told it can be done on one bus, and i don't wanna ride the )-train everyday.

Justin's back in town which is great. I did my very best to watch Star Trek III: The Search for Spok. But I was so very tired after the wedding that I just could not do it (which is NOT a reflection on the brilliance of Star Trek III).

and so today I head back to Ottawa. good times

Abortion

I'm sort of out of intresting things in my daily life to write about. Not that nothing happened, but more like so much has happened that I haven't been able to digest it all and reflect on it (going to school in all) so i thought i'd just write about a genreal topic (abortion)

now I remember that abortion was a big issue in the federal election. People were up in arms that whats his face (how easily i forget, the leader of the conservatives) was against abortion.
so i'll put in my two cents (note; if you don't care about my two cents, then please, read no further).

Am I against abortion: yes
Do I want to see abortion outlawed: no.

Now some people may say that that is condrating, but i don't think it is.

I'd like to see a country where the immediate choice of having a baby can be as the choic to abort.
I'd like to see a country where young single mothers (and anyother mothers) would not be looked down upon but would be surrounded by support and help.
I'd like to see more homes open to adoption.
There is a high rate of post abortion counselling, I think that there should also bepre abortion counselling. Not nescarrily forced session, but at the very least a counsellor to walk some through emotions that they might encounter after an abortion. I know Canada is different, but in the U.S. medicine is free enterprise, so the doctors get paid for thier wor; which means they might be less likely to do anything that might have thier patients leave.
I'd like for it to be aseasy as possible for a woman to go through the nine moths, give birth and either keep the child or give it up for adoption. Of course none of this is easy, but niether is abortion.
I'd like to see both pre and post abortion counselling in our churches and other institutes... because all sins are forgiven.

so yes, I am a chirstian who is against abortion, but it down't mean I support so called christiananipers or that I want to send women running to the back alleys to get an abortion.

I would like to see the abortion rate go down and the attitutes of society towards single females who are pregnant or have kids, change to be more accepting, along with changed attitudes in the church towards women who have had abortions.

also to people who r really against abortion, then when the time comes, let your acts, not your word, do the speaking. adobt a kid or help out a mother or pregnant person woman who needs it.We have AA in the church, so if the need exists, lets get post abortion counselling in there too.

Word

Sup everyone?
so, I tried to post earlier, but my comp. was messed up. Yup, I'm at Carleton UNiversity. I found out the day before classes started so i came down to try and register for classes, but they were all full. So me and my mom (imagine walking around with your mom on the first day of school... not cool) had to go from major organizer to major organizer asking for pemission to taking closed classes. But I've managed to get 4 classes each semester with no tv/video classes (which requir digital cable or paying for the tapes).

I got some hard classes lined up
Sociology1001
Psychology 1001
Anthropology 1001
and my first year seminar (small class) on youth employment and education (only one open)

Well The hard days of trying to get classes r over, now for study.

Oh, and cuz i got accepte late, i missed frosh week, which means I don't know anyone. There are 10,000 people here... thats half the size of brockville just in school. it's crazy!

Oh and because of oac, and the fact i was in college, i'm at least 2 years older then everyone else, it's actually a noticable difference. but oh well.

Oh, and i think white people might actually be a minority here. It's a pleasent change from brockville. cuz now i am the minorty (go fat christian white dudes)

sweet

Hey Ho Let's Go

Looks like i'm heading to school!I've been officially accepted!
I must be really pesimistic, cause i still feel like somthing's gonna happen when I get there that will prevent me from being able to take classes, but we'll see what happens.

Been awhile

Crap, blogger changed thier layout again, and it sucks.
anyways
I've phoned Carleton like three times now, and apparently my application was being reviewed by the comitee on friday when i phoned, so I find out if I'm going to school or not on Tuesday (and classes start Thursday).

As some of you may know, I had beautiful long hair (long for me anyways) which was almost a nice looking mullet. I decided to get the back trimmed a little for shawns wedding (for which i'm the best man, so have to look good for thier pictures). My regular barbour was closed, so I went to 'First Choice'. first thing she did was take the clipper to my head, it's gonna take at least 6 months to grow my hair back! the only good thing is that I can slick my hair back and look like an old school mobster, or give it a mohawk. But i fell like i'm too old for a mohawk now, plus thier stupid. when you see guys in pop bands with mohawks and even 'Rick the Temp' you know that thier just not bad ass anymore (the mohawks).

I've also found a new love... suspenders. I kid you not, once you've tried suspenders, you'll never go back! The preassure and tension is off my waist and my belly can hang freely! Despite hating the mohawk, I have to admit, I look pretty good with a mohawk and suspenders, it's a nice combo. Sortof a skinhead punk look. Of course I can't back it up, so i hope no one picks a fight with me. (i may be big, but i'm really a wuss)
