the rollar coaster

So today i get my first paper back (actually it was only an article critique, but worth 10% of my mark). I flip it to the back to see a very odd sight that put a knot in my stomache and made me feel ill. I checked with other people in the group, no one got over a C, and so i confirm and it seems that many people were unsatisfied with the TA's marking. calling her names and all the rest. I look back at my paper, this can't be my paper, but there it is, my name and my ideas on the paper. yup.. I got an A-. I felt sick for aout an hour afterwards, the preassure, oh the pressure. my first makr higher then any mark i'd ever gotten in high school or college. I tried to avoid telling people my mark to avoid being thought of as a smarty. not that being a smarty is a bad thing, but that I know I can't back it up. I end up heading into my next class, where after some wait I recive a returned project from her as well. I flip it to the back and the knot in my stomache is untied. a C- (60%). thats more like it!

actually i'm hoping that my normal marks will rest somewhere between B and C. The reason i did so well on the critique was cause it was on american vs. canadian, and I took a course on that in high school so i knew alot, and the reason i did bad on the other assignment was because I detested the assignment. (plus an american marked it and she forgot to convert the points into Canadian

X gonna give it to ya

well, mid-term weeks over.

I actually only have like 2 mid-terms but now hte projects from my FYSM are coming on.
As far as the mid-terms went i think i did good on one and not so good on the other. but I won't know for sure till i get the marks back.

I finally got my sorry butt out to a church, I went to a presbyterian church that was close by. St. Paul's seems good. I slept in and missed the 'contemperary' service and ended up going to the traditional, needless to say, I was the youngest one there. The organ was nice, it made my chest runble. And the sermon was alright, except I knew it off by heart. It was about how we got the bible. It was one of the first things I studied at bible college and then the same week we learned it in class, we went to a church that gave the sermon. so it's like the third or fouth time i've heard it. I'll probablly go there next week and see what the con. service is like. I don't think they have a young adult group either, but then again I don't really wanna be part of a dating group anyways, so we'll see

Science VS Faith

I've gone from one extremem to another.
IN Sociology we learned that according to one Sociologist's theory that society goes through three stage (in order).
Theological- explaining everything through religion
2nd stage (i forget what it's called)- explaing everything through abstract reasoning (philosophy)
and Positive- explaining everything through science (experiments and observation).

Now of course, leave it to a social SCIENCE to say that SCIENCE is the highest form of culture and a socity. but at the same time it's intresting to see just how against science, a lot of Christian's are.

Saying Darwin to some people is like saying Satan. I mean all Darwin did was set out to observe things and record them , he wasn't out to destroy the church. He's book was on Natural Selection and gave way to some ideas of evolution.

Now has far as Natural Selection goes, if you say you don't believe in Natural Selection then you're an idiot. gimme some guppies and in a couple of months I can show you how natural selection works through Artificial selection.

Now as far as ice ages and evolution go, fine if you don't want to believe in it. (i don't really believe in macro evolution myself). But believe in these niether proves or disproves the existence of God. Believeing in God is about faith. NOthing can prove or disprove it. Thats why I have Faith. because science is about man's obersvations and we can only observe so much.

but anyways I gotta study the human brain in all it's glory for tomorrow

strange place

it's been an intresting week. I'm neck deep in studying for mid-terms.

I had a good talk with my cousing and her friend at a bar. (I love it when we get loud and rowdy talking about Christianity and God while at the bar). I think I was geting kind of arrogant in my bitterness against christians (or I should say certain christians), thought that I knew the most about how messed up things r. But they kinda helped me to see that I was holding on to my bitterness and i dunno, i let it get in the way of a lot of things. I don't really understand God, which I guess is understandable... it's just that when I was younger I thought it was so simple and understandable. I guess If I were to use an analogy it would be like if you say 'God is not the reason for wars, He is good, it's man who is at fault'. but then all of a sudden theres conscription and your forced to war and you see the horrors and you can't understand why God wouldn't prevent it. I guess in time you might beable to once again say That it's not God who causes it, but now you say that from your own experience and reasoning, not because of what you've been taught.... does that make any sense?

So i'm looking into going to some churchs here, tomorrow i'll either be going to the Presbyterian church or MIssionary Alliance, depending on which one is closer. I'm looking for a church with a good young adult group (not a dating group) but i don't really wanna go to one of the churchs at school.

some good bands I've found lately
METRIC
Rise Against

JOIN THE RESISTENCE!!!!

Well, i'm off to study things like Agust Comte, Karl Marx, Max Weber, the order theory, and much much more

The Budgie Chronicles

I never realized it put having a bird is a lot like having a dog. If you want them to do n e thing other then sit in thier cage all day then you have to spend a lot of time training them and showing them that you're not a threat. So after 4 days I can get my budgie to perch on my finger and sit on my shoulder. But if you try to touch her wings, back or head, she'll fly away (or flutter due to the clipped wings). oh, and i was on the puter today with her on my shoulder, and just before i put her back in the cage, she left me a little present. Anyways, i'm off to study for mid-terms!

pussycat pussycat where are you? I love you!

SUP? SO RIGHT NOW THE KITTEN IS ON MY SHOULDERS BITING MY EAR.
oops, she must have hit the caps lock!

I bought a new pet, a budgie names blue (YOUR MY BOY BLUE!) I have to hand tame him, cuz in te pet store he was just with other birds and i don't think he was handled much. So far I can rub his belly, sometimes, without him hoping away. I'm hoping to be able to get him to perch on my finger soon. I also herd that you can teach them to talk, but I doubt it.

Toni ght in class we learned about dating methods (for archology). pretty intresting but would probablly make a boring post.

Moving Day

I moved yesterday and today i'm settling in. living with Pam and Nate are good times. they have this tiny kitten named lucy, she always hides under blankets and in bags, so u have to watch where you sit! but it's been good time.

The wedding went pretty good, minus all the dutch ppl (just jokes). I hope those crazy kids are having a good time wherever they are. (does n e one know where they went/ when they'll be back?)
